Historical Globeville Tour

Sunday, May 7, 2017, 2 - 4 p.m.

Meet at 2 p.m. at St. Joseph Polish Catholic Church

Cost: $5.00/person

Join us for a wonderful Sunday afternoon touring a largely forgotten town rich in Colorado history. The town of Globeville was settled in the late 1880s, by mostly eastern European immigrants, seeking religious freedom and economic opportunity. Globeville offered jobs in gold and silver smelting plants, railroads, meat packing plants, foundries and brickyards for these new settlers and is rich in hisory of German, Russian, Orthodox Slavs, Southern Slavs and Polish settlers.

Our tour guide and fellow ASN member, Dennis Gallagher, will also show us 3 unique churches there: St. Joseph Polish Catholic Church, Holy Rosary Church, and Holy Transfiguration of Christ Eastern Orthodox Church. Each offers a unique cultural experience.

Send RSVP by May 1 to Brent Werner at asnalum@regis.edu or (303) 907-6235.

Wear comfortable shoes and PLEASE bring non-perishable food items for Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception food pantry!
