Solidarity on Tap is a simple gathering for socializing and social justice. The Ignatian Solidarity Network, Jesuit Volunteer Corps, Boston College School of Theology and Ministry, Jesuit Volunteer Corps Northwest, Jesuitical, and Jesuit School of Theology of Santa Clara University, Maryknoll Lay Missioners, along with other local partners welcome all to Solidarity on Tap | Milwaukee.
Food and beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) will be available for purchase. All are welcome (21 and over).
Around 7:30 p.m. we will have a reflection by Rana Altenburg, the vice president for public affairs at Marquette University.
 
Speaker Bio
Rana Altenburg, Arts ‘88, is vice president for public affairs at Marquette University. She oversees the university’s governmental initiatives at the federal, state, county, city, and tribal levels; community relations; university special events; and special projects of strategic importance to Marquette.
Altenburg joined Marquette in 1996 as director of governmental relations and was appointed vice president for governmental and community relations in 1998 before being named to her current position in 2001. She previously served as a partner at a government relations firm in Washington, D.C. 
She earned a bachelor’s degree in political science and Spanish from Marquette and an MBA from the Northwestern University Kellogg School of Management.
She is president of Near West Side Partners, a member of the boards of directors of Business Improvement District No. 10, Wisconsin Avenue Milwaukee Development Corp., Seton Catholic Schools, The Wisconsin Group, The Science Coalition, and a member of TEMPO.
Rana and her husband, Jeff, Arts ‘86, have two daughters, Hannah, a 2017 Marquette alumna, and Sophia, a Marquette dental school student.
