The Next Chapter

Discerning your future in the Ignatian Tradition

Exclusively for ASN members

The Next Chapter program is grounded in Ignatian spirituality and is sponsored by Saint Louis University. It is a six-month, guided journey with a group of approximately 18 people who are approaching retirement, or who are recently retired. The ultimate goal of the program is to assist people in discerning who God is calling them to be, and what God is calling them to do, in their next chapter of life. 

The virtual program for the ASN cohort begins in January of 2021

The ASN member reduced cost is $250.00

To learn more about The Next Chapter program and have an opportunity to ask questions, you are invited to attend a virtual information session. The information session dates are November 11th and November 17th. The meetings will run from 6:30 – 8:00 pm (CT).

Tom Auffenberg, Program Director

Tom retired in 2016 after careers in teaching,law/financial planning and twenty-five years as a business owner. His education includes a BA in philosophy from the Santa Clara University, a law degree from St. Louis University, a Certified Financial Planner designation, and an MA in theology and a Certificate in Spiritual Direction from Aquinas Institute. Tom participated in a one year program focusing on transitioning from the work years to the retirement years at The Halftime Institute and afterward became a Certified Halftime Coach. Tom is currently the Director for Contemplative Leaders in Action – St. Louis
