"For the Greater Glory of God," a dance/ theater piece inspired by the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola was created by Fr. Bob VerEecke, SJ, for the Ignatian Anniversaries of 1991-1992. Since then there have been live performances throughout the United States, Canada and Jamaica. Jeremy Zipple, SJ, a professional videographer and media director at America Magazine video recorded the work two years ago. The work combines music, dance, scripture, and the text of the Spiritual Exercises in a way that invites the audience to experience the dynamics of the 4 “weeks” of the Exercises. The role of St. Ignatius is played by Fr. VerEecke who is presently pastor of St. Francis Xavier Church in New York City. For more information email Fr. VerEecke at rvereecke@sfxavier.org.
