One of the essential functions of a Chapter is to select and induct new members into the honor society each academic year. The selection process ensures that the most qualified and worthy individuals are chosen to receive the honor of membership, the highest honor that can be bestowed to a student at a Jesuit university. The induction ceremony is the first experience of Alpha Sigma Nu for new members and is a representation of the Society’s prestige, history, tenets, and unique position as the Jesuit honor society. Each ceremony includes the conferral of membership certificate and pin or pendant to inductees, as well as the communal reciting of the AΣN pledge by all members present, new and old.
Selection of members is based on the requirements of the Alpha Sigma Nu by-laws. Induction ceremonies are celebrated according to the University tradition.
