Haig Fund Grant

History of the Haig Fund

In 2012, Alpha Sigma Nu received an extraordinary $75,000 gift through Rev. Frank Haig, SJ, of Loyola University Maryland, from the estate of his brother, the Honorable Alexander Haig, former United States Secretary of State and Supreme Allied Commander -Europe.  Father Haig, with full support of the AΣN Board, has designated this gift as a fund for student Chapter programs promoting Alpha Sigma Nu’s mission.

About the Haig Fund Grants

Thanks to Father Haig's generosity and commitment to Chapters, the Board awards grants of up to $500 to support programs that promote the Alpha Sigma Nu values of Scholarship, Loyalty, and Service.  As the selection committee evaluates applications to the Fund, those programs that enhance the profile of Alpha Sigma Nu on campus will be given special consideration.

Chapter officers, with the guidance of their Chapter Adviser, can apply for financial support from the Haig Fund.  Programs to be funded include speaker events, Chapter retreats, service projects and others that address the AΣN tenets.
