Alpha Sigma Nu Magazine to Debut This Fall

Posted in: Alpha Sigma Nu

We are very excited to be launching a new magazine this October. As communications evolve, we at Alpha Sigma Nu must adapt our ways of communicating with members to meet you where you are - and where the trends are. The magazine format will allow us more space to share important Jesuit news, Ignatian resources, Alpha Sigma Nu highlights, and most importantly, member stories. We poured over the data from our alumni survey and heard your collective interest in learning about your fellow members, reading news and finding resources to keep you connected to the Jesuits and Ignatian values. This format has a longer shelf-life, meaning you might find yourself going back to the magazine over time to more thoroughly read the articles you initially skimmed or to reference a resource that piqued your interest.

As we know ever more communications are moving online, we will also be offering the magazine in an online format that makes your reading experience more efficient and enjoyable. Easily read and share individual features and find links right from the issue to important accompanying content.

In this first issue, we will focus on our Jesuit identity. As Stephen Sundborg, SJ, President of Seattle University, challenged us at the Triennial Conference to discern what it means to be the JESUIT honor society, we will be diving into the important Jesuit framework for our time and exploring what our Jesuit identity looks like across cultures. We will bring you stories and viewpoints from several Alpha Sigma Nu members to add to the conversation. In each issue you will also find recurring features, including an Update from Rome, Collaborators Hub, Chapter and Club Notes, and Awards. We hope you will deepen your understanding and connection to our shared Jesuit values through this new communication piece.

This is a major evolution in our member communication, and we will be making other adjustments to ensure our communications are consistent. The magazine will be an annual publication, arriving in mailboxes in October. It will replace the semi-annual newsletter. You may have already noticed changes afoot. Because of the magazine's October launch, we did not mail a summer newsletter, and this Alpha Sigma News e-newsletter is hitting inboxes early. We will now send the e-newsletter three times per year - August, January, and May. You can still look forward to our annual appeal letter in November as well.

To ensure you receive the new Alpha Sigma Nu Magazine, be sure your contact information is updated in our Member Directory.
