Celebrating the Life of Rev. Frank R. Haig, SJ

We celebrate the life of Rev. Frank R. Haig, SJ, who died on Feb. 28, 2024 at 95 years old.

Fr. Haig is remembered for his renowned career as an astrophysicist, lifelong learner, scholar, professor, and leader. Dedicating his life to serving others and the pursuit of intellectual development, Fr. Haig's leadership roles include serving as President at Le Moyne College and Wheeling Jesuit University. Fr. Haig was professor emeritus of physics at Loyola University Maryland.

In 2012, Alpha Sigma Nu received an extraordinary $75,000 gift through Fr. Haig from the estate of his brother, the Honorable Alexander Haig, who served as Secretary of State under President Ronald Reagan. Father Haig designated the gift as a fund for student chapter programs promoting Alpha Sigma Nu’s mission and values.

Countless students, campuses, and communities benefit from programs supported by the Haig Fund Grant. We are so grateful to Fr. Haig and celebrate his lasting legacy, one that personifies ASN's tenets of scholarship, loyalty, and service.
